Botson University visits NatureFix
As part of an exchange program with Boston University, Macquarie University called on NatureFix to help showcase and deliver an afternoon information session on the benefits of nature connection as an important facilitator to environmental stewardship. Students were introduced to the NatureFix activities installed along the Watsons Bay as an important reminder that it is not just the contact with nature but the nature of the contact that counts.

We were delighted to spend the morning with renowned author of The Well Gardened Mind, Sue Stuart-Smith visit of our NatureFix trail sites at Pilot Hill, Bago State Forest. This trail being one of our highlights and community favourites the as part of the Snowy Valleys Nature Wellness Drive.

NatureFix launches in South Africa
NatureFix is delighted to be installing its first Wellness Trail in South Africa! We have partnered with Nature’s Valley Trust (NVT), a small community-driven non-profit and registered urban conservancy working in the stunning Nature’s Valley area situated on the southern Cape of South Africa.

Landcare ACT calls on NatureFix
With a growing movement of nature connection taking place globally, Landcare Act called on NatureFix to showcase and co-deliver training on the benefits of nature connection and it’s role as a key facilitator of environmental stewardship. With over 60 registered participants, the training dived into the science of nature wellbeing, and explored the concept of “nature prescribing”, which is where individuals consciously notice and appreciate nature as part of a health care plan. As part of the training participants had an opportunity to try NatureFix’s 28 day nature prescription program, with many participants reporting significant changes in their relationship with nature.

Feel better with birds
BirdLife Australia and NatureFix have joined forces because we firmly believe that everyone has the right to access the benefits of nature and birds. Thanks to the wonderful support from Bayside Council, you can soon enjoy our first Better with Birds Nature Wellness Trail located at Bardwell Valley Parklands. Designed to mindfully boost your wellbeing, the trail invites park visitors to take time to stroll along the creekline track and bond with birds. With such a wonderful array of birds, including the big and small, you will not be disappointed.

Nature trails for mental health in rural and remote communities
Thrilled to have Dr Miles Holmes, co-founder and co-director from NatureFix co-present with Dr Eric Brymer, chartered Psychologist from Southern Cross University, and Jennifer Wines and Jacinta Elphick, Disaster Recovery Clinicians from the Murrumbidgee Local Health District at this years Rural Mental Health Conference in Albury. Providing an overview of the scientific research of nature connection and in application using the Snowy Valley Wellness Drive as a case study.

Singapore National Parks visits a NatureFix Trail
We were delighted to have representatives from the Singapore National Parks Board visit and learn about our NatureFix installation at Cooper Park in Bellevue Hill, Woollahra. With Singapore being one of the greenest cities in the world, we were thrilled to spend time onsite and discuss the importance of having thriving networks of green spaces, where nature is restored into our urban environments as part of our everyday lives.

Wellness drive taps into nature’s health benefits
The Snowy Valleys Nature Wellness Drive was officially opened at Adelong Falls by NSW Chief Psychiatrist Dr Murray Wright. An important community health asset that is creating experiences and activities to help people connect with nature as a powerful way to improve health and wellbeing. The Drive links a series of wellness stops and walks throughout the Snowy Valleys from Adelong through to Khancoban.

Hospital green spaces become year-round sanctuaries
As a new and exciting health experience, NatureFix is now an integral feature within some of Sydney’s major hospitals. Catering to patients, staff and visitors alike, the Nature Wellness Trails and Zones are helping transform hospital gardens and green spaces into wellness places.
