Botson University visits NatureFix

As part of an exchange program with Boston University, Macquarie University called on NatureFix to help showcase and deliver an afternoon information session on the benefits of nature connection as an important facilitator to environmental stewardship. Students were introduced to the NatureFix activities installed along the Watsons Bay as an important reminder that it is not just the contact with nature but the nature of the contact that counts!

Students enjoy the Sydney views at Watsons Bay

Waminda from NatureFix had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with students from both Boston and Macquarie University, taking them through the Nature Wellness Trail located in Sydney’s iconic Watson’s Bay.  As part of their Australian points of view toward global environmental challenges exchange program students were able to participate in the nature conneciton activities whilst collectively exploring:

•         Nature based interventions for mental and physical health such as nature prescriptions.

•         Increasing stewardship behaviours at the local and institutional levels through the strategic increase of psychological measures of connectedness with nature and as aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

•         Landscape Design solutions that transform urban and semi-urban landscapes into healthscapes.  Healthscapes being landscape that inherently improve human health via nature connection, biophilic and biomimicry design principles and which improve environmental health via biodiversity and sustainability design elements.
