Tumut’s Nature Wellness Walk

If you are needing some time out to slow down, then you can’t go past Tumut's Nature Wellness Walk. Where you can tune into the sounds of running water to calm your mind and lift your spirits, listen to the language of birds, or walk the Labyrinth of Peace and learn about its restorative benefits.

The Tumut Nature Wellness Walk targets reflection, renewal and reciprocity as you wander along the riverbank through Bila and Rotary Pioneer Parks. With a variety of 11 nature connection activities to choose from, the Labyrinth of Peace sets the tone at the start of the trail as a uniquely meditative experience. Here you will also enjoy insights into the healing powers of country from local Wiradjuri knowledge holders and learn about the traditional meeting place.

Proudly funded by the Blakeney Millar Foundation, Louise Halsey explains

Being involved in the Tumut’s wellness walk was an opportunity to for us to just not only promote the Labyrinth of Peace but to help the community in bushfire recovery. By moving around the Labyrinth, the pace that one takes brings people into nature…” reflecting “that the most rewarding thing is that the Tumut trail is now contributing to something as extortionary as the Snowy Valleys Nature Wellness Drive.”

Winding between various locations from Adelong to Khancoban, the Snowy Valleys Nature Wellness Drive includes as series of stops and walks to entice locals and visitors alike to linger longer and engage with nature in ways proven to refresh and restore.

The drive incorporates over 40 scripts and activities - accessible by signage and the NatureFix app (including guided audios) - that invite you to slow down and absorb the multisensory details of nature, whether reclining in a sky seat at the Pilot Hill Arboretum (Bago State Forest) or treading the Labyrinth for Peace at Tumut.
