Healing on Country
Wiradjuri Audio Series
A series of healing audio experiences, designed by community for community.
Developed in partnership with Elders, Aboriginal health workers, clinicians, schools, community members, and youth across Tumut, Brungle, and Wagga Wagga, these audio journeys honour Country as a healer, teacher, and companion. More than an audio series, Healing on Country is an invitation to listen, connect, and heal through the enduring wisdom of Country.

Extensive community consultation was undertaken across Wiradjuri Country, including Wagga and Tumut Hospitals and a range of community locations. The content was developed collaboratively with Elders, Aboriginal health workers, clinicians, schools, community members, and young people from Tumut, Brungle, and Wagga Wagga, ensuring it reflected local knowledge, culture, and community priorities.

Healing on Country is grounded in the understanding that the wellbeing of people, Country, and culture are deeply interconnected. First Nations knowledge systems recognise that the health of the land, waterways, and communities cannot be separated. When Country is cared for, people are strengthened; when people reconnect with Country, healing can occur.
This collection of nature-based, audio-guided experiences have ben co-designed by communities and narrated by local Indigenous voices. Each journey weaves together cultural perspectives, storytelling, connection to Country, and evidence-informed wellbeing practices to support emotional healing, cultural identity, resilience, and belonging.
Designed to be accessible whenever and wherever support is needed, the audio journeys can be used in hospitals, health services, healing gardens, bushland settings, community spaces, schools, workplaces, through to backyards.
